As you can see, I’m a beautiful Dachshund/Beagle mix. I was rescued in September 2010 from a local animal shelter by a well-meaning animal lover who, as it turned out, isn’t as energetic as I am. She passed me down to her lovely daughter and family whom I adore. They say I’m absolutely precious and that it’s unfair to me that they can’t provide the time and attention that I so desperately need.

You can’t tell by the pictures below, but I have big brown eyes that are very expressive, and my brown and white colored fur is shiny and healthy. They say I look like a little horse. I’m two years old, house trained, spayed, micro-chipped, and up to date on all my shots. I’m very playful and would make a great companion for adults and/or children and other dogs. I spend my time in the backyard chasing squirrels, birds, and cats. I love the outdoors and running!

My family is so busy with other activities that I’m getting a bit lonely so I need to find a new family very soon. Please consider taking me into your home…you won’t be sorry! My kind owner will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please call Becky for more information at 512/260-5237.

Sasha

I am fostering a dog abandoned by her family in our neighborhood. They moved off and left her to die. I got her spayed and all her shots. Now she needs some help finding a good forever home. We already have 2 dogs in our tiny home and just don't have the room to keep her. She is sweet, smart and obedient. She loves the dog park and plays well with others. She has some separation issues as you might expect. We've had her about 5 weeks and we named her Sasha. She quickly learned that Sasha means her. She would not do well with cats. She likes kids and would do well in a home where she was not left alone often. She goes to her crate when asked and has to be crated when we are not around to keep her from chewing up stuff. Shes about 1 year old. She weighs 42 lbs. and the vet thinks she'll be about 50 lbs fully grown. She loves to play or be a couch potato, which ever you are in the mood for. They were found on the side of the road, skinny, scared and covered with fleas. They are now ready to join the upper echelon. They are becoming accustomed to the good life - lots of good food, soft beds, and people to wait on them. We believe these girls are possibly mother and daughter. Kate is 2 years old and weighs 18 pounds. She has mostly black fur. She is a smiler; she literally grins and shows her admirers her pearly whites. Kate loves to play fetch and is pretty laid back. Pippa is 3 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. She has mostly blonde fur. She likes to sit in laps and be loved on. We are guessing these two are King Charles Spaniel mixes. Both dogs are housebroken, vaccinated, spayed and heartworm negative. We would love to see them adopted together, but they could be separated for the right home. She is a large dog, between 70-80 lbs, but would still love to be a lap dog. She loves people and loves to play with other dogs. She also likes to lay in the sun for naps and sit in lawn chairs to look out over the backyard. She is an intelligent dog who is crate trained and house broken. She is good with older children, but not cats. She should not go to a home with a cat. Her current family loves her very much, but with two other dogs, a baby and a cat she is just too much for them. They do want to make sure that sweet Boo Radley will go to a home where she will get the attention and love that she deserves. Boo Radley is spayed and current on all vaccinations. We are letting go of Harley because we are starting a family, and he is very whiny around newborns. He will do better with a different family. He is great with kids who are a bit older. She's really a lap dog in a medium-sized dog's body. If Kate had her way, she’d be curled up all day on a couch next to you, with a blanket over her, a pillow under her head, and her plush toys in her arms—that’s how she rolls. Kate’s gentle and is the perfect house guest. If you leave her in your house, she won’t touch a thing. She’s housetrained, has mastered some basic commands, and is highly trainable (she’ll move mountains for a treat). Kate’s been spayed and micro-chipped, and is healthy as can be.

Kate does have some issues (potentially trainable) with certain dogs and especially cats, so she’d do best in a home where she can be the only pet. Kate's a medium-energy dog and would appreciate a backyard to occasionally frolic in, or a person willing to take her on a few short walks each day to stretch her legs.

If Kate sounds like a match for you, you should meet. Once you see Kate’s sweet face and she showers you with kisses, you’ll be hooked. My toddler was just diagnosed with asthma and the dogs are making it difficult for him to breathe without a lot of medication, the doctor recommended we find a home for them. In the mean time, they are having to spend most of their time in the kitchen or outside, away from us and they deserve better, they are very lovable and need more attention.

We adopted the dogs together at 3 months old and they have been best friends ever since. Sintra is a calm and cuddly love bug. Winston is also a cuddler but he's goofy too and definately wants to be more active, he is the BEST running dog. I can take them both off-leash to the park and they are great, they run to greet the occasional bunny or other dog, but do come back when called. They love the dog park, well, what dog doesn't! Both are also very content hanging out around the house with you. They are house trained, basic manners (sit stay come). They just need need someone who is home a little more to love on them and take them on the walks. Here is a little snapshot of the dogs and their personalities:

"Hi, my name is Sintra (I'm the tan one, and I'm a girl) and this is my brother Winston (the black and white fellow). We're 6 years old and we live in Round Rock with our mom and dad and two little humans. We sleep inside at night together but love to go outside all day if the weather is nice! We like walking, swimming in ponds, riding in cars and Winston was a really good running buddy for mom...when she ran. I like to snuggle with my humans, I really think I was born the wrong size, I should have been a lap dog. I love my little humans too and I like to clean up after their meals, or during dinner if the boy will let me when mom is not looking! (That's where mom says I get my full figure from.) Mom and dad seem to be gone a lot more now and they have their hands full with the little humans when they are home. Mom doesn't run anymore either which is a bummer for Winston...and me. We really miss getting to play and go on walks and car rides and would like to play with you! ...or anyone really, we don't know any strangers :)"

They are up to date on all of their shots, heartworm and frontline. Please call Krystal at 512-789-4131 to learn a little more about them or to meet them.

Conway

This sweet boy is in desperate need of a home! She will always have burn scars, but she healed nicely and in addition to achieving a healthy weight is now spayed, micro chipped and current on all her vaccinations. She is currently in a foster home with two other dogs and a cat, all of whom she gets along with very well, sharing toys and eating comfortably side-by-side. She loves going to the dog park and is enthusiastic about playing with other dogs of all sizes. In addition to her good manners with other animals, she is fully crate- trained, walks comfortably at “heel” on a walk, knows “sit” and “come” (“stay” is a work in progress), and is coming along well with her potty-training; she uses a bell as an alert to ask to go outside. Gracie has been treated poorly by people in her past and thus is still on the timid side with new people. She is incredibly sweet natured, and really wants a forever home in which someone will treat her kindly, love her, and spend time with her. She can go to a home with other dogs or cats, and would do fine with older children who would understand that she needs time to become comfortable in a new situation.

Want to give this sweet girl a forever home? I am a one-year-old female pointer/pit mix. People tell me I am smart, loyal and loving.

I've had quite a ride so far . . . my first owner got sick and couldn't keep me because she had to move in with family. My second owner had a cat. I had a great time at training class with the second owner and caught on to things really fast! On the other hand, the cat always just looked like dessert to me.

I am with a foster dad out in the country right now but I'm really anxious to get settled somewhere. I am healthy, spayed, micro-chipped and not a picky eater at all. I am very athletic and, if I do say so myself [blush], I would make a great agility dog.

I love runs and walks, but I'm also very contented just lying at the feet of my human. My main thing is being with my owner. And that's hard because (I'm embarrassed to say it) I don't really have one right now...

Two photos are attached. The one where I'm lying down was at my "City home" and the one where I'm standing up is my current [foster] "country home." I have a great attitude because I know I'll find the right human and this nomadic first year will just make me appreciate him/her all the more!

I'd sure like to be snuggled up in my forever home for the holidays! You can follow-up with me by calling Robin at (512) 496-9314.

Sally

Sally is a beautiful and mellow 45-pound Bernese Mountain mix who was found on the street in late September. She is approximately 3 years old, current on vaccinations, and has been microchipped and spayed. Sally is housebroken, calm, and very sweet. She has not yet met a person (adult, male/female, child) that she does not like, but she has had issues with other dogs, perhaps out of fear or under socialization. He has been living outside and being fed with a group of feral cats. I noticed one of his front teeth sticking out and took him into the vet. Poor Manny has a broken jaw! The vet says it is an old injury and his jaw is stable, but he needs to have the tooth pulled. This will be done next week 12/9/11. The vet is guessing someone kicked Manny in the head! This is unimaginable because he is such a loving boy. Manny is fine with cats and dogs. He is FIV+. Can you give poor Manny a loving, warm place to live? He is 2 years old lovebug. He's a shelter rescue, we fell in love with his big brown eyes and you will too!! We think he's 7 and a manchester terrier mix. Willis is very calm and quiet, house trained and trustworthy overnight without a crate, and he's never been destructive or aggressive. Willis has all his current vaccinations, has no known health issues, and has been regularly medicated for fleas/ticks/heartworm, he's also been neutered, and micro chipped, which we will update with your information. We've been very happy with Willis, and appreciated an older dog who was already trained and well behaved, but our situation has changed and we must find him a new home, could that be with you??

He comes with all his gear, which includes his bed and lounging pillows (which he LOVES to do), a rubbermaid bin stocked with food and his treat jar, his toys, some grooming supplies, as well as his vet file for your records, and more. Frank is a handsome male, black and tan, wire-hair, 2 yr old Doxy mix. Ollie is a beautiful female, red and white, smooth-coat, 8-10 mo. old Doxy/Spaniel mix. They're definitely related, but there are a couple of theories on how (either he is her sire or they are siblings through separate litters). One thing is for sure-they are a pair. Their foster mom jokes that they really function as one medium-sized dog instead of 2 small dogs! They love people and get along well with other dogs. There is no doubt on their ability to bond with others. They pick up routine well and are able to entertain each other in a very busy household.

They are both current on all shots, heartworm-free, spayed/neutered and housebroken.

We would love to keep them together. He is extremely loyal, playful and loving. 6months ago I tried to find him a knew home that would provide adequate running space, a loving family in a home where there was other dogs. Unfortunately, I was mislead and Icarus ended up in a home where he was tied up ignored and feed table slops. It broke my heart because it was hard to let him go in the first place however,I just wanted the best for him. I was lucky to be able to bring him home again. Icarus is potty trained and trained in sign. At this time I myself cannot provide well enough for him, we need a home with lots of room to run and possibly other dogs. Coco was found locked in a ball field at a neighborhood park. She is a 6-8 month old mix of mostly pointer and retriever. She currently weight about 40 lbs. The scars around her neck indicate that Coco did not have the best start in life. Someone had let her grow into her collar until it became imbedded. Nevertheless, Coco loves people and other dogs. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and is heartworm negative. She is housebroken and understands 'sit' and 'down'. We're working on 'stay'. Coco is a bundle of energy and would make a great pet for an active household with seasoned dog owners. She would probably make a great agility dog, as well as a good running companion. Her ideal household would include an older dog to show her the ropes, but she would probably be fine as the only dog in a family, as long as she receives the attention and training she needs to reach her full potential. Coco can be around young children, with supervision. Cats are still an unknown. Please consider adopting Coco into your family! I am a handsome 18 month old dachshund with a lot of love to give. I like to hang out with my stuffed animals and play with people and other animals. I want to find a permanent home because I have been through a lot lately. I was picked up by my foster mom outside of Houston after I was dropped out of a car at a gas station. Even through everything I have remained in good spirits and listen well to those who take care and love me.

I love to play and snuggle and I promise I am potty trained and great on a leash. She warms up to other dogs, and has never been around cats. She is eager-to-please and knows all the basic commands (sit, stay, down) as well as a few fun extra tricks. He’s a fantastic boy, weighing approximately 50 pounds, with an active and adventurous side! He's energetic, happy go lucky, free-spirited, and independent, and his people adore him. When he goes for walks, he stays right beside his person, sits and stays on command and has a real zest for life. He loves to run, sniff, jump, and chase balls, Frisbees or anything else that bounces or squeaks. He’d be the perfect fit for their family . . . except . . . Duke does not get along with the other dog or cats in the household. His rescuers were so taken with him that they hired a trainer to work with the dogs and even sent Duke to boot camp where, being a quick study, he learned basic commands like “sit”, “stay” and “here”.

Duke is now a well-trained dog who STILL doesn’t get along with the other dog and continues to chase the kitties! After much painful consideration, his people have decided that the answer is to find a better home for Duke. Since he loves their walks and outings so much, they think he would do best in a home with active people who will take him to the park or on hikes or to play Frisbee in a field. Given his bossy behavior with the other family dog and cats, Duke’s trainer thinks he should be the only pet in the household. (That way, he can be “top dog” ). Also, given his exuberant playfulness, his folks think he’d do best in a home with older children (middle or high school). That’s fine with Duke because he cherishes his role as baby of the family.

Duke’s perfect family is out there so we’re asking for your help making the perfect match! His situation is critical since his rescue family must find placement for him or face taking him to another shelter. Please consider opening your heart and home to this great guy or forwarding this to your friends & family! If you let her, she would love to be a lap dog, however she is also happy to go on walks. She is six years old, weighs 20 lbs and comes up to your knees. We are not sure what her mom was- maybe a terrier or maybe even a lab mix! People always stop to tell us how cute she is; she has the perpetual puppy look without the puppy energy level. We are heartbroken to give Chloe up but our family has grown to include a baby and Chloe would prefer a family without children. Chloe has had excellent vet care, recent teeth cleaning, is spayed, and has always received all preventative exams. She is good with cats but would prefer a home without other dogs. This lovely 2-3 year old boy was found stray in Georgetown and now he needs a good home. He is a unique looking guy - almost like and Olde English bulldog with a mastiff's head screwed on. He's also got the "bull-headedness" of that combination, so he needs a person to adopt him who will work with him to make sure he doesn't push you around too much. He is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and heartworm negative. This guy does have one health issue, he has some hip dysplasia. We'll have full vet information for anyone interested. Norton's adoption fee is $50 from Georgetown Animal Outreach. Contact Laura, his foster coordinator, at txcodigirl@gmail.com if you are interested.

Ridley

Ridley is a happy, healthy 5-year-old mixed-breed dog. I tell people he’s part Lab, since that seems to make everybody happy, but I don’t know if it’s true. Maybe part Lab? Part Dobe? Part Shar Pei? Part Chihuahua? To be honest, I don’t know what he is. But I’m real sure he’s a dog.

Why do I want to find a home for Ridley? I’m going through a divorce, and as much as I love him, I no longer have a home for him. He needs a good home.

He’s good with kids (I have two little kids), and he’s also good with other dogs. He’s very active. She was born on Feb 3, 2010, and with her astrological sign being Aquarius, she was named Aquara.

Aquara is about 30 pounds with a sweet personality and a lot of love to give. If you need a walking pal she is definitely your girl. Aquara is still a young lady so she really enjoys her chew toys and playing outside with her family. She could use some additional training but she is a very bright and will be an outstanding student. She is house and crate trained.

The reason for us trying to find a home for Aquara is, we have 3 year old triplets and as much as I love her, Iím not able to give her the time, love and attention she deserves. Though she's been raised with small children, Aquara would be much happier in a home with children over the age of 8 or in an all adult home that would provide her with the love and attention she needs. She's not been exposed to many other dogs so it may be best for her to be an only dog but introductions to your dog would be welcomed.

Aquara is very healthy. She has had her dew claws removed, is current on all of her vaccinations, has been continuously on heartworm and flea preventative and is spayed. She is a patient at Feather and Fur and all of her medical records will be made available to her new family. Please contact her family at volcano.godess@gmail.com to learn more or to set up a time to meet Aquara.

Penny

Beautiful girl, 1.5-2 years old in Williamson County is shy, timid, and in need of an understanding, patient loving home. She likes her stuffed animals and she likes to go on walks. She would rather run free but my fear is she will be hit by a car. The greyhound in her wants to run and run and run until she is tired!

She loves attention and likes to be right by my side. She has had all her shots. No illnesses, no fleas. Koda is an 80 lb mix between a German short haired pointer, and Boxer is my best guess. He is a terrific dog! Koda absolutely LOVES for anyone to throw a ball, and gets along with all walks of life. He is great around other dogs and children, and I think he would prefer to have one or both of these around. It has just been me and him for over 2 years, so he loves to socialize when given the chance. He is house trained, crate trained, knows his basic commands and is very mild tempered. He loves to stretch his legs at the park, in a pool or just about anywhere that someone will let him. When he is not wanting to play or be scratched, he usually rests his little head by you and your television… unless it’s his bed time and he’ll make his way there (he has a nice little nook in my closet that he prefers). If you are interested in adopting Koda, please contact me at patrick.farley@yahoo.com or call me at 806-441-7279. We took them in as fosters in order to keep them out of a shelter. They are looking for a new permanent home. Nathan is a rot-mix about 3 years old. Girl is a pit-mix about 2 years old. Both are fixed and in excellent health. Both grew up together around children. Girl is the more outgoing of the two. She would benefit from having a running/hiking partner. So if you are the active type she would be a good fit for you. Nathan on the other hand is more laid back and likes to hang out in front of the tv laying on the carpet. I will be happy to arrange meet and greets if you are interested in either dog. She's good with other dogs (of course, careful introductions are always a must), she's fine with children, and she's very alert and interested in pleasing. We've had Patches out at several different off-site adoption events and she is great at all of these - one of the calmest dogs of all. Patches would be a great training partner, she's a natural athlete. Of course she's up-to-date on all of her vaccinations, HW negative and on preventative, and spayed. She's also housebroken. And, did we mention, she loves a good car ride! Since she's been at the shelter for so long, her time is getting short. We need a good home for her soon. From what my foster parents can tell I grew up outside tethered without a lot of interaction. I am six years old. Don't think of me as an old lady though because I can run and play with the best of them but I also like to snuggle up on the couch or bed and I am an infamous snorer. I was an owner surrender to the local high-kill animal shelter in Austin, TX where my former family said I was rough at play. From what my foster family can tell, I'm a labradoodle and I play like a labradoodle with other doodles. So far I love my foster family, with a 7 year old girl and two foster sibling dogs. I get along great with them all. I do chase cats and play rough with my small foster sibling who barks incessantly at me and who kinda looks like a cat. My foster family thinks I would do really well with older children, a cat free home and a home with larger dogs. I would however really like to be the only dog though as I love all the attention. I do not like my ears touched (probably because of untreated painful infections) and my foster parents are working with me on that but for now a home without children that might pull on my ears would be the best.

I am heart worm negative, up to date with all shots, house broken, crate trained and microchipped. I am good with older children and dogs, but not so great with cats.

For more information on how to adopt me please visit my Petfinder page at http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/18134669.

Jaime

Jaime is a sweet pug/min pin mix (we're guessing) that is around 2 years old and 20lbs. He's neutered, up to date on shots, and HW negative. Jaime was picked up as a stray and sent to the local kill shelter where Pug Rescue of Austin found him - scared, overweight, and afraid of being touched. Since being in his foster home the past few months, he's turned into a regular monkey! He loves to play with other dogs, go on hikes off leash, go for walks in the neighborhood, and snooze in the sun with his fellow dog friends in the house. He's extremely loving towards humans and very gentle with children. He's very tolerant of excited dogs and knows when to be submissive. He will make a great addition to any home. She showed up in our back yard one cold February night. We were unsuccessful in finding her owner and have fostered her for nearly three years. She is a wonderful dog, very gentle and great with kids, cats and other dogs. Unfortunately, we are a cat family and not used to the "walking the dog" routine. She really needs a loving dog family. She has really soft fur and beautiful markings and would make a wonderful family pet. Please call or email if interested or needing more information.

512-506-9461

jdavidson86@austin.rr.com

Thanks!
